Demi Lovato's mother, Dianna De La Garza, says she didn't even know at first that her daughter had suffered an overdose. "I love you.' And at that point she said back to me, 'I love you, too'".

She admitted she was "in shock" following the news and rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles where Lovato was being treated, bringing along her other daughters, Dallas and Madison.

During the emotional track, the former Disney star sings: "I don't know why/ I do it every, every, every time".

She said: "It's still a really hard thing to talk about it".

"She continued, "[Kershner] stopped for a second, and she said, 'She's conscious but she's not talking.' And so I knew that we that we were in trouble".

"She just didn't look good at all", she recalled.

And she said that her daughter is now on the path to recovery. "The times we'd broken up, I had already gone to that place of, 'Yeah, this is what's happening.' I didn't realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself". She has been there for more than a month, says TMZ.

Dianna De La Garza appeared on NewsMax TV on Tuesday via live stream to detail the exact moment she discovered her daughter had reportedly overdosed in her Hollywood Hills home on July 24.

After hearing Demi's response, the 56-year-old says she chose to never allow herself to think "that things weren't going to be okay" again.

She added that the stunning singer was doing much better and was working on staying sober. "That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family".
