Bill Clinton, Smokey Robinson among the many speakers at Aretha Franklin's funeral

The service will reflect Franklin's strong gospel roots and among the gospel stars performing will be Marvin Sapp, the Clark Sisters and Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

Former U.S president Bill Clinton, Smokey Robinson, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Cicely Tyson will be among the speakers at Aretha Franklin's funeral next week. Her funeral will be held in Detroit at Greater Grace Temple next Friday.

After Franklin's death on August 16th the world paid tribute to the iconic "Queen of Soul".

"Franklin began her career as a gospel singer in her father's baptist church and later achieved commercial success in 1966 with songs like "Respect", "Chain of Fools", "Think", and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman".

The all-star line-up includes Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar and many more. Robinson and Franklin grew up together in Detroit.

Franklin died last Thursday of pancreatic cancer at the age of 76.

The Queen of Soul's service will be held in Detroit on August 31. Ellis, III, pastor of Greater Grace Temple, will serve as Officiant with the Rev. Robert Smith, Jr., Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, as Co-Officiant for the homegoing service, which will be limited to family, friends, dignitaries and special guests.

The funeral will cap a week of remembrances for Franklin.

Another tribute show featuring Johnny Gill, the Four Tops and Gladys Knight, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Angie Stone, Raheem DeVaughn will be held in Chene Park the night before the funeral. Abdul "Duke" Fakir said he was honored that his famed Motown group was invited to perform.
