For the second consecutive season, Oklahoma is ranked No. 7 in the preseason Associated Press college football poll.

As expected, Alabama will be No. 1 to begin the year in the preseason poll, which the AP released Monday. They received 42 of 61 first-place votes, including my own. Georgia finished third before Wisconsin and Ohio State rounded out the preseason top five.

Nick Saban and Alabama storm into the season as the nation's No. 1 team. The Pac-12 has three ranked teams: Washington (No. 6), Stanford (No. 13) and Oregon (No. 24). Taylor rushed for almost 2,000 yards in 2017, finding the end zone 13 times, and tied the FBS record for fastest to get to 1,000 yards on a season, doing it in seven games.

This is Alabama's seventh time overall being a preseason No. 1, matching USC for fourth most.

In the video above, we will be going LIVE shorty, breaking down the AP Poll Preseason Top 25 that was just released!

Miami was the highest-ranked team from the state of Florida with the Hurricanes coming in at No. 8. The No. 1 ranking is the 104th time the Crimson Tide have topped the AP poll since its inception in 1936, which is No. 2 all-time in poll history, one behind Ohio State's 105 appearances.

The only so-called power conference team to go unbeaten in the BCS/CFP era and be ranked similarly low the next season was Auburn - twice. The Knights are followed by Boise State at No. 22.

From Ohio State to Michigan to Penn State to Michigan State and Wisconsin, the conference is home to five teams who have legit aspirations of not only winning the conference championship but of making the College Football Playoff too.
