The latest leak apparently confirms some rumors that have been flying around about the Mate 20.

Huawei has proudly embraced the notch, we have seen in on their mid-range phones like the Nova series and even on their flagship P20 series.

With an anticipated launch sometime in October, it's a good two months out from an announcement, and yet already there's leaked renders and some specs too. The leak also suggests that the Huawei Mate 20 Lite is expected to launch by the end of August 2018 with a price tag of $400 (Rs 26,000). Whatever be the case, the Mate 20 line-up looks like it is going to retain a notch up-top much like the P20 Pro. Leaks have been flowing in all directions; with the Mate 20 these leaks reveal the front panel of the smartphone and with the Mate 20 Lite you can check out the handset from all different directions.

The Mate 20 is expected to come with a 4200mAh unit and while you are expected to get better battery life the rest of the benefits will come from the 7nm FinFET chipset, the Kirin 980. It will come with Android 8.0 and powered by a 2,650mAh battery. However, the images make it unclear whether it is the Mate 20 or the Mate 20 Pro that we are dealing with. With the photography advancements on the P20 and P20 Pro, and the specs rumored to be on-board, we can't wait to officially get our hands on it.

More details have since emerged regarding the Kirin 980, which has been benchmarked in China, showing an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores. Knowing Huawei, the company tends to keep its most sought-after features for the Pro versions. A bigger-than-Mate 20 Pro notch at the top will reportedly feature advanced face recognition technology with 3D sensing. WinFuture and fellow leaker Roland Quandt published several other "acquired" shots of the phone in gold and black.
