Motorola and a handful of brands have stayed away from this "despicable" trend but unfortunately, they have succumbed to peer pressure with their latest P30 smartphone.

Motorola has equipped the P30 with dual rear camera system comprising of a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors.

We've seen the first Moto-phone with a notch get leaked this week as the Motorola P30. On the front, the device offers a 6.2-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2246 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio.

The single major reason for Motorola P30's close resemblance to iPhone X is the fact that consumers like such design language.

As assured, Motorola hosted an event in China on Wednesday to launch the flagship Moto Z3 and affordable Moto E5 Plus smartphones.

- The phone comes with a ceramic back in three colours - white, black and a purple + blue gradient colour option. The P30 bears some similarities with the iPhone X thanks to a wide notch and a vertical dual rear camera setup. Motorola says the device has a nano coating on it to keep it water resistant. The device has an aluminium frame and glass on both the front and back. The P30 also supports Dolby Atmos sound. Unlike the iPhone X, the P30 also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and out of the box it runs on Android 8.0 with ZUI 4.0 skin on top.

The P30 is set for a September 15 launch (a month from now), but will launch in China before even preparing for a worldwide launch... which to me would be a rather bold idea, given that Apple's legal team will be waiting to pounce. We may hear something about its global availability at IFA 2018.
