YouTube Removes Ad For Horror Movie The Nun Because It's TOO SCARY!

The six-second ad shows a volume sign decreasing until it reaches mute, and then the nun appears as part of a horrific jump-scare.

YouTube responded in appreciation for notifying it of the ad's inflammatory potential, which, the company's team Twitter account notes, violates its shocking content policy.

Just when you thought having to sit through another YouTube ad couldn't be any worse, New Line Cinema's "The Nun" says, "Hold My Crucifix".

Being frightened by a trailer should be something that a horror fan relishes in, but when you're waiting to watch a YouTube video for a good recipe it might be a little jarring. The Conjuring franchise has been more hit than miss, with the only critical miss coming from 2014's Annabelle. Who knows if it saved any lives, but the tweet (and others like it) did get the video removed from YouTube.

Do YOU think The Nun will be as scary as this ad?

Story-wise, we understand The Nun takes place long before New Line's core Conjuring series - 1952, to be precise, when a Romanian monastery was graced (i.e. terrified) by Valak's presence.

The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy and stars Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu, Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons. "Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in The Conjuring 2, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned".
