Manchester United are reportedly planning to launch a late bid to try and sign Serbian worldwide Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

The midfielder represented Serbia at the World Cup and reported back to Rome this week amid links to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, while Inter are reported to have reignited their interest in his signature.

Reports linking United to the Serbian follow claims that Paul Pogba could be on the move this summer.

Jose Mourinho has spent most of pre-season in a haze of anger due to the clubs lack of transfer activity but there is still time for the wallet to be opened. The Serbian midfielder has developed into one of the most exciting midfielders in the game, since moving to Lazio back in 2015 from Belgian side Genk.

Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as Real Madrid, have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, with Lazio president Claudio Lotito stating that he is willing to sell the midfielder.

Serbia worldwide Milinkovic-Savic is among Europe's most sought-after talents, and has been regularly linked with Manchester United and Juventus as well as Milan.

"Of course I do not want to sell, but if you asked me how much he is worth, I will remind you that past year I refused a €110 million offer".

There is plenty of Manchester United gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the English giants linked with a whole host of star names ahead of deadline day.

Milan have just signed Gonzalo Higuain from Juve in a major show of ambition, and Milinkovic-Savic would be another statement purchase after establishing himself as one of the finest midfielders in Europe at the Stadio Olimpico.
