Brad Pitt hits back at Angelina Jolie's child support claim

TMZ reports that Angelina Jolie has been saying that Brad Pitt isn't paying child support, but Pitt has reportedly paid millions of dollars ever since their split nearly two years ago.

Court papers filed Wednesday by Pitt's legal team called Jolie's child support claim "a thinly veiled effort to manipulate media coverage".

In new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Brad fires back. he loaned her $8 million so she could buy the home in which she now lives, and shelled out more than $1.3 million in child support.

In response, Pitt claims he gave her $1.3m (£1m) and says he lent her much more, bringing the total to $9m (£7.2m). "What has been filed by Brad's side today is a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children".

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who are embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle, have been slamming each other publicly over the past two days as they air their grievances via the media.

"Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO [Request for a Court Order] for the establishment of a retroactive child support order", the filing read, according to documents obtained by NBC News.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spent the last two years fighting about their two-year marriage.

Separate sources told Page Sixthat theWorld War Z star has spent "millions for therapists" for their brood, as well as forked out for their travel expenses and round-the-clock bodyguards. Ms Jolie's spokesperson told The Telegraph: "The court filing was meant to provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path towards the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children".

'The divorce case has been held in front of a private judge to keep it out of the press, ' one friend told the gossip site.

Another source added: 'Brad has completely lived up to his commitments as far as child support and will continue to do so'.
