YES Network's Michael Kay, who serves as the Yankees television play-by-play guy, criticized Frazier for an inability to get healthy during an episode of his self-titled TV show on Monday. "You can't make them get healthy, but if those guys are available, it's completely different".

Frazier had the initial scare during spring training, when he had a concussion, and then suffered another head injury when he was diving for a fly ball for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in late July.

Kay drew flak from fans for his criticism of a man suffering head injuries and tried to walk back his statement later Monday as if he were joking. While the play-by-play announcer explained that he was only being facetious, that answer was not enough for Frazier, who took to Twitter to respond to Kay.

Kay defended himself Tuesday morning in his response to Frazier.

Now, you see where this is going. I should have said how unfortunate you and Ellsbury's injuries are. "If you took it the wrong way, I apologize and look forward to speaking with you personally".

The Yankees have been in a slump and now sit nine games behind the Boston Red Sox in the AL East after being swept in a four-game series by their rivals over the weekend.
