Alexa will soon answer old questions months after you’ve asked

If there's one area in which Alexa has long lagged behind Google Assistant, it's general knowledge.

Here's how it works.

"If you ask me a question and I don't know the answer but I find out later, I'll notify you", Alexa explained, according to the report.

Once this feature rolls out, when you ask Alexa a question it doesn't know the answer to, it will prompt you to enable Answer Updates.

There's also no sign of the feature in the Alexa app's notifications settings, at least not on my device.

The Amazon Alexa Answer Update feature will notify you when it learns the answer to a previously asked question. The feature allows Alexa to notify you when she finally has the answer to a question that she couldn't answer at first blush. You'll then be able to disable the feature at any time by saying "Alexa, turn Answer Update off" - if intermittent reminders of your own trivial questions begin to get on your nerves.

While you may have already found the answer to your query already, Amazon said it's a way to demonstrate the gradual improvements to Alexa.

It doesn't appear that the feature is fully up and running yet, though.

Right now, you can grab TP-Link's Wi-Fi smart plug mini or LIFX's mini white smart bulb for just $10 at Amazon when you use coupon code SMART10 during checkout.
