Meryl Streep and Cher among stars at premiere of Mamma Mia sequel

Mamma Mia, which was a hugely successful stage musical first, made more than $600m (£453m) worldwide.

Amid olive trees and plenty of ABBA tunes, the musical world of "Mamma Mia" took over a London theater on Monday for the film sequel's world premiere with Oscar victor Meryl Streep and pop diva Cher among the attendees.

Brosnan called the film " a great antidote to the times we lives in".

"I think people are going to be transported to this handsome Greek island with all these beloved characters and all these fabulous songs".
