But although the ceremony might have been a snooze for a tiny prince, the fashion from the day wasn't. "I think I will be a very, very good godfather - one day, at least".

Pelly, who married Elizabeth Wilson in 2014, will now have his chance, trusted with a reading of Ephesians 3: 14-19 at the christening.

Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will be christened in London, but his great-grandparents won't be there. Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wore a white structured Alexander McQueen dress with a Jane Taylor headpiece.

After a lovely ceremony at the St George's Chapel, the two left in a carriage to take a tour around Windsor.
