The official site has also started taking registrations to determine the demand of the latest development ahead of its formal launch. HTC says its partnership with Cryptokitties "is the beginning of a nonfungible, collectible marketplace and crypto gaming app store".

The HTC Exodus will run on Android and will include built-in support for blockchain applications - as well as a universal cold wallet for cryptocurrencies. "With the release of the HTC Exodus we can now make this a reality", the company wrote on the site while calling customers to sign up to receive further details.

For HTC, the ultimate goal is to build up an ecosystem of blockchain-friendly apps specifically for this community.

HTC has partnered with CryptoKitties to give a glimpse on how the blockchain technology works.

The game, which involved collecting and trading virtual cats, is an example of non-fungible tokens, an aspect of blockchain technology that provides the basis for creating unique digital assets for collectible games where players compete for rare and scarce items.

The HTC Exodus will include support for decentralised applications and will be able to run nodes on the Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains, too.

The Taiwanese company hasn't revealed any details about the arrival of the Exodus.

Given the ubiquitousness of smartphones, the device is ideal for growing the base of dedicated nodes on blockchain networks, HTC chief decentralized officer Phil Chen (陳信生) said.

The developer-level construction of the HTC Exodus was started in early 2018, though Chen stated that the plans were finalised about the model in March and April.
