Lyon are eyeing up a move for Morrocan winger Hakim Ziyech this summer as a replacement for Liverpool target Nabil Fekir.

Last term, the French worldwide - who could feature in the World Cup final against Croatia this Sunday - hit 23 goals in all competitions in a scintillating season, which triggered major interest in his signature.

Fekir is still desperate to join Liverpool and told Aulas this over two meetings in Russian Federation during the World Cup, according to the Mirror.

Liverpool had been pushing to sign Fekir before the World Cup, but just as a deal looked to be imminent, Lyon pulled the plug on the deal, with Liverpool seemingly attempting to get a discount on the deal over knee concerns with Fekir.

Olympique Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has revealed that star Nabil Fekir will not be leaving the club this summer amid interest from Premier League side Manchester United.

That's a major boost for Jurgen Klopp, who may still be hoping to see Fekir providing for Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah next season.

Liverpool may be interested in coming to the agreement to pay Fekir's transfer fee over a five-year period, in line with the playmaker's contract.
