England fans turned London's Hyde Park into the rowdiest beer shower

The dozens of fans on hand were lively through the nail-biting match but ended on a quiet note, as Croatia earned a 2-1 win in overtime to move on to the World Cup Final.

"We prepared to get to the final and we want to play it. Now I want to go and see what's going on in Russian Federation", said one fan, Michael Roberts, 27, as he waited for his flight.

Despite a valiant effort, the team will come home without the Jules Rimet trophy after losing the semi final 2-1 to Croatia. There had been huge optimism during the day that while France in the final would be a tough proposition, there was little doubt that England would make it.
