His story has been told and retold in the media and through books by other authors, but it's the first time Sanjay will be opening up his heart in a book about losing his mother Nargis Dutt as he was making his debut in "Rocky"; his battle with substance abuse, multiple heartbreaks, encounters with the law and a staggered stint in prison, alongside his closeness to his father Sunil Dutt, his superstardom, his physique and his return to the big screen and his family life.

With this book, the reader will finally get to look into his soul.

The memoir will be published by HarperCollins on his 60th birthday on July 29, 2019. "Finally, we will get to hear the fascinating stories about his youth, his Bollywood stint in the 1980s and '90s, his experiences in prison, and his self-discovery, that have never been told before", the publishers said.

It was previously said that the Sanju became the latest Bollywood film to have bagged the biggest advance booking of 2018.

After the stupendous performance of Rajkumar Hirani's "Sanju" at the box office, not only the heartthrob of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor was lauded for the biopic but also the whole team was equally applauded for the success. Ranbir Kapoor who plays the character of Sanjay Dutt in the film has been appreciated a lot for his uncanny resemblance to the actor. I told her I will pick up those documents when I come back. "I am looking forward to sharing my memories and emotions with readers everywhere", Dutt said.

What makes Sanjay Dutt's journey an epic story, quite apart from his professional accomplishments, are the ebbs and flows that have characterised his life, the publishers said.
