Global professional services firm Aon has announced a multi-year partnership with the PGA tour and LPGA to hold a unique golf competition.

Preparations for the final Dell Technologies Championship are underway and the 100-player field will have its unique Monday finish for one last time on September 3. Dubbed the Aon Risk Reward Challenge, the competition will award a player with the best cumulative score on "the most strategically challenging holes across both the PGA Tour and LPGA schedules" next season.

The BMW Championship will be the middle event for the leading 70 players in the FedExCup standings, while TPC Boston will host the Northern Trust on alternate years from 2020 after the Dell Technologies Championship removed from the schedule.

The PGA Tour held annual tournaments in Detroit for 45 years between 1958 and 2009.

The Houston Open and A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier are moving to the fall and will be played next as part of the 2019-20 schedule.

The WGC-Mexico Championship moves up a week following Genesis and precedes the Honda Classic and Arnold Palmer Invitational.

This year's Open takes place from 19-22 July at Carnoustie in Scotland, with the PGA Championship in Missouri from 9-12 August. The final piece was where to put two new tournaments between the U.S. Open and British Open.

The PGA Championship will be May 16-19 at Bethpage Black on Long Island, splitting part of the Texas swing - the AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas will be the week before the PGA, and the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial will be the week after the PGA.

The 3M Open will be held two weeks before players head across the pond for The Open Championship, which will be held in Northern Ireland in 2019. If they play the following week's WGC event in Memphis, golfers are looking at five tournaments in six weeks to end the season.
