In comparison, her 37-year-old sister Kim Kardashian's estimated worth is about a third of that, at $350 million. At the time, Kris Jenner, Kylie's mother, who rakes in 10 percent of all her children's earnings, said the company had collected $420 million in retail sales over 19 months.

Jenner - the cover girl of Forbes' August 2018 "America's Women Billionaires" issue, released online on Tuesday - is worth roughly $900 million, according to the magazine. "It could easily be an instant game-changing acquisition for any company on the hunt for a winning brand with a younger customer", senior VP or merchandising at Ulta Tara Simon said.

According to the outlet, Jenner has amassed $900 million dollars since launching the brand less than three years ago, which makes her the youngest person on the fourth annual ranking of America's Richest Self-Made Women.

Forbes values Kylie Cosmetics - which launched with only lip kits less than three years ago - at almost $800 million.

While makeup and more specifically lip kits were a natural fit for Jenner ― she recently made headlines for ditching her signature lip fillers ― she says she "struggled for a minute" to identify her passion in a family where each member is successful in their own way. With momager Kris Jenner's guidance, she started making seven figures as a model and got a few endorsement deals.

Forbes' Natalie Robehmed details how Kylie Cosmetics has found success both by harnessing Jenner's huge social media following and slashing costs by outsourcing labor.

Kylie Jenner on the cover of Forbes. "I don't want to do it with anyone else", Kylie told Forbes. "I turned to makeup to help me feel more confident". (In 2015, she admitted to getting temporary ones.) So, the reality star chose to capitalize on everyone's obsession.

"I said, 'I'm ready to put up my own money".

Kylie debuted Kylie Lip Kits in 2015 before relaunching in 2016 as Kylie Cosmetics. Forbes reports that revenue grew just 7% in 2017, with lip-kit revenue dropping an estimated 35%. However, mother Kris maintains that revenue is up "considerably" in the first six months of 2018 compared to past year, but it's an assertion that Forbes couldn't verify.

"Maybe one day [I'll] pass this on to Stormi, if she's into it". "It's always something that we're willing to explore", the matriarch tells Forbes.
