Cardi B is preparing for motherhood by going after her former manager for trying to control her life.

While Cardi B acknowledges having a contract with Shaft, her lawsuit argues that it was breached after WorldStar, Shaft's company, failed to provide some of the services agreed on, such as an independent business manager and certain payments to her.

According to a report, the ex-manager, who sued her for a whopping Dollars 10 million in April, claiming that Cardi B had cut him off financially.

Not only did Shaft receive a 20% commission, but he tried to get even more money off the performer's Sony music publishing deal - allegedly demanding 50% of that deal.

Cardi B has made a decision to launch a counter-suit against Klenord Raphael on the basis that he exploited her and tried to maintain control over her career and personal life. The control extended to who she chose to date.

In addition, the suit says he had her sign an exclusive personal management agreement with a company called "WorldStar Marketing Group", and gave her "the false impression that WorldStar had some connection or affiliation with the popular entertainment and music website," but the company was simply an alter ego for him.

According to the court document, the rapper said Shaft was controlling her personal life and career and wanted to control her relationship with husband, Offset. The suit, which came weeks after her hit album Invasion of Privacy was released, is for $10 million.

Shaft first sued Cardi back in April after she left him for new representation.

Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image.

"Shaft and KSR/WorldStar controlled all the books and records relating to Ms. Almanzar's professional activities", the counterclaim reads.

A representative for Cardi B was not immediately available for comment. Almanzar is Cardi B's real name. Leonard is listed as a co-writer on Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow".
