According to an interview with Eurogamer at Gamelab, Todd Howard confirmed that mod support for Skyrim on Switch is not now in development at Bethesda studios. Currently, Bethesda is doing nothing to fix the problem, as their attention is focused elsewhere, like the recently released Fallout Shelter on Switch. However, it seems that luxury will not be making its way to Nintendo Switch anytime soon, as Bethesda is not now developing mod support for the Switch edition of the popular fantasy game. We would love to see it happen but it's not something we're actively doing'. He acknowledged that the support hasn't really been up to snuff: "Skyrim Switch has a big community that we haven't supported the way we'd like". In any case, Fallout 76 will have Creation Club mod support when it releases on November 14th this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. "Right now we're doing nothing", he said. Eurogamer followed up on this statement to find out exactly what was meant, and Howard's response wasn't exactly reassuring.

"It's definitely a lighter touch, which surprisingly worked very well for us in Fallout Shelter". "People, they're on other things". So, Bethesda kinda went for the jugular there with the Creation Club, which basically allows them to profit off of mods.

Creation Club probably won't reach the console.

"Even though everyone's connected and it matchmakes you to an invisible server, and you can play with your friends, we know, based on our history, that the future of [Fallout 76], the long life of it, is in people having their own worlds they can mod and make their own and say, "Hey come play in mine and see what I did, '" Howard told Keighley at Gamelab". So, those that picked up Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch were expecting equal or similar support for their version of the game.

But if you're hoping to use mods to let bears play lutes, or turn dragons into Thomas the Tank Engine on your Switch anytime soon, Bethesda chief Todd Howard has some bad news for you.
