We're not yet sure why Microsoft is bagging the early beta for its console device, or whether it really matters that much, but if you fancy getting involved make sure you pre-order full game.

While it will offer some limited gameplay for fans the B.E.T.A is primarily designed for Bethesda to test server capacity issues that may arise as the game takes on a more open multiplayer format for this installment. According to the FAQ, pre-ordering Fallout 76 is "the only way to get access to the beta" (emphasis added).

"Do you have nerves of steel?"

Q: How Do I get Access to the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A.? "Join the proud ranks of Vault 76 today".

Xbox players will probably feel some sort of justice with this, with the amount of PS4 exclusives shown at E3 this year, such as Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part 2, and Ghost of Tsushima.

Bethesda has announced that its planned beta for Fallout 76 will kick off first on Xbox One.

Here's what we still don't know: when the beta begins and the gap between the Xbox One beta launch and other platforms such as the PC or PlayStation 4. Exact dates for the beta have not been announced, but Xbox One will get it first, followed by the PC and PS4. You can check out the latest trailer for the game that debuted during the Bethesda conference at E3.
