TechRadar is now in China at the launch of the new Vivo phone, so we'll be testing out the phone as soon as possible to give you our verdict on this next-generation device. The Chinese company says that the screen tech offers improved audio experience through screen. The phone features a glass and metal build and that revolutionary fingerprint sensor just underneath the screen. It's unknown what amount of RAM and storage it will come with but it's expected to have a price tag in the region of US$600. The total screen size comes in at a massive 6.59 inches and is an OLED display.

Under the hood, the NEX is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset, and it comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage as standard, and you can also pick up a variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There's also the Vivo APEX FullView but it's only a concept Android phone. According to the listing on the Suning website, the Vivo NEX top-end variant will cost a whopping 9,999 yuan, which converts to Rs.1,05,300 based on the current exchange rate. Vivo has managed to do that by adding a sliding front-facing camera module and replacing the earpiece with Cantilever Piezoelectric earpiece, same as the Xiaomi Mi Mix. Except for the slightly thick bottom bezel, the other sides of the screen are surrounded very thin bezels.

The under-display fingerprint scanner works great, if not perfectly, on the Vivo X21. NEX demonstrates Vivo's determination to test the limits and break industry conventions.

The Vivo NEX also features an updated Jovi Intelligent Voice Assistant. It has an 8-megapixel camera pop-up camera on the front. The front camera on both the devices is 8MP with f/2.0 aperture.

For photography, there is a 12MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the rear with sensor aperture rate of f/1.8 and f/2.4, respectively. The phone's cameras come with at on of modes as well, as far as the front-facing camera is concerned, you can choose between Live Photo, Face Beauty, AI HDR; Portrait Bokeh, and Panorama modes, while AR sticker and AI filters are also included.

Other features include dual-SIM support, 256GB of storage and a 4,000-mAh battery. Jovi could be used to launch apps, recognize voice commands, and tell users more about what's on the screen.

The Vivo NEX has been on the headlines since it was teased at MWC earlier this year.

The cheapest variant among the three, which is called Vivo NEX A, comes powered by Qualcomm's recently launched Snapdragon 710 SoC, along with 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.

The OEM said that the device will go up for pre-order tomorrow on June 13 and will be available in offline stores on June 23.
