CBS cited a Brookings Institution report revealing turnover in Trump's first year was at 34 percent, four times higher than the first year of his predecessor Barack Obama.

According to sources that spoke to CBS News, Sanders told friends she plans to leave by the end of the year.

Sanders was replying to an earlier CBS News report that both she and deputy press secretary Raj Shah have considered leaving their positions in the administration.

Sanders replaced Sean Spicer, who quit last summer after President Donald tapped pal/financier Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director - a gig Spicer had been filling in on. They told the network Sanders is planning to leave at the end of the year.

CBS News wrote that neither "Sanders nor Shah immediately responded to repeated requests for comment".

If true, it would be the latest series of shakeups in the White House press department since Hope Hicks resigned as the White House communications director in February. "I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS", she tweeted.
