It turns out that the gentle tossing motion isn't just recommended.it's required to catch Pokemon in the upcoming Pokemon games.

This means that if you're playing the new Pokémon Let's Go titles while on the go, even in awkward places like public transport and the like, you'll still be required to move the console around - even if only slightly to line up your throw.

At least, that's what Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of developer The Pokemon Company, is hoping for anyway.

Despite the buzz Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee received when it was announced, there's been a lot of confusion as to what would and would not be done with the Switch. The Pokemon Company explained that they opted for motion controls instead of using the Switch's touchscreen because the Switch is "quite a bit" heavier than the average smartphone. The game can also be integrated with PPokemon Go app and transfer their Pokemon from the app to the Switch game.

While the jury is still out on Let's Go as a whole, it's clear that as a spinoff of sorts, it's not going to be as comprehensive as a mainline entry.

We knew from the start that the new Pokemon games Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee will have online play but what we did not know was whether the online feature is free or not.
