Angelo Mathews and Lahiru Gamage take an early flight home

Mathews withdrew due to a "personal reason", it added.

Mathews had been sidelined for five months due to a series of hamstring and calf injuries and was bitterly disappointed when he missed out on Nidahas Trophy.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket have confirmed fast bowler Lahiru Gamage fractured his finger while batting in the first Test after taking a blow from Shannon Gabriel. Both players made very little contribution to the side following the loss with Mathews scorign just the 11 and 31 in each innings.

Batsman Danushka Gunathilaka, who had played in the Tests against Bangladesh in February, and allrounder Dasun Shanaka, who had played against India past year, will only leave Sri Lanka on Wednesday evening - the eve of the St. Lucia Test.

Sri Lanka's selectors had initially discussed sending experienced opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne as the replacement, but were concerned about his match fitness. The opener was ruled out of the tour after suffering a fractured left index finger during training.
