Wolves sign Mexico striker Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica

Wolves have signed Mexico forward Raul Jimenez on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese side Benfica.

Mexico have a massive population of over 130 million people, and it's a football-mad country with millions taking pride in their national stars going over to Europe and performing well.

It's one in, one out at Molineux with fellow striker Benik Afobe poised to join Championship side Stoke City for £12m just 11 days after signing for Wolves in a £10m deal.

Jimenez started only six of his 33 league appearances for Benfica last season, scoring six times, and will now seal his move subject to worldwide clearance and a work permit.

Jimenez, 27, has scored 14 goals in 62 games for Mexico and is part of their World Cup squad in Russian Federation.

At the 2012 Olympics in London, Jimenez came on as a late substitute in Mexico's 2-1 win over Brazil in the gold-medal match at Wembley.
