Robert De Niro apologizes for ‘the idiotic behaviour of my president’

"Nobody's talking to you anymore", Gutfeld said on De Niro, paraphrasing one of the actor's most famous lines.

"I'm going to say one thing: 'F-- Trump, '" De Niro said at the Broadway award show.

Oscar-winning actor, Robert de Niro, got a standing ovation at the Tony Awards on Sunday after delivering a tirade against President Donald Trump on stage.

'I apologize to Justin Trudeau and the other people at the G7, ' De Niro continued, 'It's disgusting.

"I mean, this type of language is accepted in Trump's America", Seawright claimed.

The president called Trudeau "disgusting" and "weak" for how he pushed back against steep tariffs imposed by the USA on steel and aluminum imports from Canada and other trade allies.

As he took to the stage in NY to introduce a performance by Bruce Springsteen, the Oscar winning screen icon began a furious attack on the US President.

The two-time Academy Award-winner was in Toronto Monday to promote Nobu Residences, his restaurant, hotel and condo project in conjunction with top chef Nobu Matsuhisha. Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said her nation "does not conduct its diplomacy through ad hominem attacks".

Trump's spate of Twitter tirades has seen a number of political leaders rally around Trudeau, including Conservative leader Andrew Scheer and incoming Ontario premier Doug Ford.

De Niro's negative opinions about Trump are nothing new.

De Niro previously called Trump a "dog" and a "bulls*** artist" while threatening to physically assault him.

De Niro's expletive, also called the "F-bomb", was bleeped by the CBS television network for millions of television watchers.
