The video came nearly a month after Virat Kohli challenged Modi in a fitness challenge.

"Here are my morning exercises". He posted a two-minute long video in which there are glimpses of his routine exercises which involve yoga and a walk on the track inspired by the 5 elements of nature.

"This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating", PM Modi said before throwing the fitness challenge gauntlet to, among others, the Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy, who is the Karnataka chief minister. "I also practise breathing exercises".

However, Karnakata CM HD Kumaraswamy responding to Modi's fitness challenge said that he is more concerned about development and fitness of the state and seeks his support for the same.

In his tweet, Kumaraswamy thanked PM Modi for the invitation and the latter's concern for his health.

Our PM has been supporting and promoting the importance of fitness since the start. Yoga and treadmill are part of my daily workout regime. "Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it (sic)", he tweeted.

In a series of tweets, Modi urged each and every India to designate some time of the day for fitness.

"The entire fraternity of fearless IPS officers, especially those above 40", he wrote in the micro blogging site. PM Modi posted a video on twitter this morning and shared his fitness mantra with the nation.

Earlier, when Modi had accepted Kohli's fitness challenge, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had dared the PM to accept a "fuel challenge", asking him to reduce the spiralling fuel prices or face a nationwide stir by his party. I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon.

The Fit India movement was initiated by Prime Minister Modi in March, which has been gaining momentum since then.

The Indian Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore had hurled the challenge towards his countrymen.
