"I've never seen anything like this in an airport, or otherwise", she said.

According to an airport spokesperson, a woman and her daughter were on their way to Philadelphia this morning with a pair of service dogs when one of them went into labor.

Ellie - short for Eleanor Rigby - gave birth to seven boys and one girl.

The little doggies' daddy "Nugget" was also there for the big event.

The puppies were delivered with assistance from Tampa Fire Rescue paramedics stationed at the airport, as well as a nurse who had to leave halfway though the delivery to catch her own flight.

Dogs are normally pregnant for around 65 days.

No planes were delayed and all the puppies were successfully delivered.

Diane Van Atter and her stepmother were on their way to Philadelphia with their two service dogs when the female, Eleanor Rigby, went into labour, NBC news reports.
