United Kingdom customers can now optimise the way their properties create, store and consume energy via the use of world-class integrated solar panels, battery storage (xStorage Home) and a home energy management system.

It also helps to make the entire solar energy system as efficient and sustainable as possible.

Gareth Dunsmore, Nissan Europe electric vehicle director, said: "Nissan Energy Solar is a complete system for home energy generation, management and storage".

The flagship of the intelligent Storage range, xStorage Home has been developed in partnership with power management specialist Eaton. xStorage Home stores the solar power produced, enabling hte homeowner to use it as and when they need, even when the sun's not shining. The solar panels home solution has been created to allow United Kingdom homeowners to use solar panels to reduce energy bills, get more independence from the grid and enable more sustainable living.

Prices for a six-panel system start at £3,881 which is just over $5,200.

Nissan claims that the system can help reduce power consumption by as much as 66 per cent on the United Kingdom average home.

And with the Nissan Leaf going from strength to strength as the world's best selling electric vehicle, and the eNV200 electric van also in the offering, by inserting themselves into the power supply business it could help Nissan carve out their own corner of the market.
