According to Instagram, "To share a feed post to your story, just tap the paper airplane button below the post, just as you would to send it via Direct". So if you see something in your feed that you think your followers will find intriguing, you can now add it to your story with just a few taps.

Now it looks like that feature is live where users can now share posts of other Instagram users on their Stories.

Social network Instagram has introduced the repost function, through which users will be able to share your account with other users. Instagram is also giving users the option of opting out from having their posts shared in the settings menu. " said Instagram in a blog post".

The new feature is beginning to roll out to Android users today, while iOS users can expect it in the coming days.

Re-sharing can only be done from public Instagram accounts, Instagram says. At the top, you'll now see the option to create a story. Within your Stories, you can rotate, scale or move the sticker around and then tap on it to explore other styles.

Once posted, your Instagram Story will display the original poster's username below the sticker, which your friends can tap on to head back to the original post.

That potential source of traffic may encourage some Instagram users to create posts specifically designed for this new sharing format, given it could increase their account's exposure to a wider audience.

This new feature is now only available for Android users, but, Instagram has said that it will be available for iOS users as well "in the coming days".
