The CW will host another superhero crossover event this fall, but this time they'll be introducing the character of Batwoman into the fold.

When Stephen Amell teased that he'd be serving up an announcement this week, I'd assumed it'd have something to do with Arrow moving to a new night, which, as it happens, was confirmed earlier today (it's relocating to Mondays at 9 pm this fall).

"For the very first time, we'll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific", Amell told the audience at New York City Center gathered for The CW's upfront presentation.

Batwoman's involvement in the Arrowverse will be featured in the next big crossover event housed on the network. "I need to leave right now and start filming it".

"This will be another full-throttled action packed event", said Pedowitz.

Batwoman is Katherine Kane, a vigilante who operates in Gotham City. First introduced in Detective Comics #233 and created by Edmond Hamilton and Sheldon Moldoff in 1956, Batwoman has gone through two different incarnations and they're both named Katherine. The modern version, Kate Kane, was reintroduced in 2006 and is of Jewish descent and a lesbian.

With such a long career in comics, Batwoman will certainly make a great addition to the Arrowverse and could even be a gateway into Gotham City itself.

But let's talk about Batwoman herself.

In the past, CW properties The Flash, Supergirl, and The Legends of Tomorrow have joined up with Amell's Arrow for major team-up events that span across episodes of each series involved.
