Whilst the Deadpool 2 star isn't keen on showing off his kids on camera, his eldest daughter has already gotten a taste of fame after a voice recording of the toddler was sampled by family friend Taylor Swift in her song Gorgeous.

Of course, this is the network TV edit, so you can expect a bit more R-rated language in the theatrical version, but it's still a really fun first encounter, and it only gets crazier from there.

Deadpool 2 gets straight into the action in what feels like the first 20 seconds and after a breathtaking collage of what our wisecracking vigilante has been up to, it leads in to a credit sequence that is so clever you'll think you're genuinely watching another popular movie franchise. So when his happily-ever-after with longtime love Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) goes sideways, he returns to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where he finds Russell (Julian Dennison), a lost and angry young mutant who literally burns for justice.

Josh made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night to promote the flick, and during his chat shared that he was hesitant to take on the movie at first because he'd only recently finished playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Reynolds provided a comically risky performance in the first "Deadpool" movie, and in the subsequent sequel, to shake up the comic book movie world. If you ask Deadpool, he would call this introductory paragraph "just lazy writing". The fact that she came back to his arms despite all the mutation and disfiguration that happened to him in the first film alone spells true love. So you could say it's pretty damn amusing. Green Lantern was mentioned prior to the film's release in a video where Deadpool apologises to David Beckham. This sequel is filled with references to comic book superheroes and pop culture in general that will make you choke in your seats.

So when it hits you, it will knock your socks off.

Immediately after this, Deadpool jumps to the point in the film when Rob Delaney's completely non-super powered X-Force member Peter was killed, convincing him to go back to his normal life instead of joining in any future superheroics.

Zazie Beetz (as Domino): "Isn't that a little derivative?" Also, watch out for the blink-and-you'll-miss cameo by Brad Pitt.

But easily the best gag here is both Russell and Deadpool calling out Colossus for using a line from RoboCop while trying to contain the situation, and the big metal guy looking so dejected afterwards.

This doesn't exactly dilute the impact of Deadpool 2, but forebodes a bigger problem in the evolution of the superhero genre. Let us know in the comment section!

Deadpool 2 is now playing in cinemas everywhere.
