Multiple people dead in shooting at Texas home, says officials

Officials said the woman's ex-husband entered the three-bedroom home and opened fire on her, her boyfriend, and three children, and then killed himself.

"I didn't even know if they owned the house or rented", Booker said.

The shooting took place around 8:28 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Lone Star Park Lane, according to WFAA.

News of the murder-suicide shocked residents of the suburban town with a population of less than 1,400 people.

Denton County sheriff's Capt. Orlando Hinojosa says the gunman also shot his ex-wife, but she survived and is receiving hospital treatment.

Fire officials in Ponder, 30 miles (50 km) north of Fort Worth, told NBC 5 that five people were found dead inside the home and the shooter was among the dead.

Police didn't launch the ages or identities of any of the victims. Ponder ISD said it had no students or staff listed at the home's address nor any absences that would raise alarms.

Neighbors were shocked as word quickly spread up and down the street what had happened inside the home.
