Honda Amaze 2018 Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs 5.59 Lakh

Honda Cars India launched the new second-generation Amaze a couple of hours ago.

Built on an all new platform, the 2nd generation Amaze incorporates Honda's spirit of innovation in research and development aiming at delighting the customers.

"In line with our commitment to offer latest technologies to the Indian consumers, Amaze comes with advanced Diesel CVT which is Honda's first such technology in the world and also an industry first in the Indian market", he added. The ARAI certified fuel economy figures for the vehicle stand at 19.5km/l for petrol manual, 19km/l for petrol CVT, 27.4km/l for diesel manual and 23.8km/l for diesel CVT models. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol capable of making 88.7 BHP/ 110NM while the diesel unit is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel tuned to develop 82BHP/113Nm.

The new amaze has also grown is dimension and is 5mm longer and 15mm wider as opposed to the outgoing model.However, the overall length remains under four-metre. On the other hand, the Dzire offers a better torque, mileage, Brake Assistant and Automatic Projector Headlamps, but it cost more than the 2018 Honda Amaze.

The Amaze gets dual-tone interiors with a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster. To commemorate Mothers Day celebration at Rushabh Honda, proud mothers of esteemed customers were handed over the keys of their shiny new Amaze car.Amaze is available in a choice of 5 exterior colours-Radiant Red metallic, Lunar Silver metallic, Modern Steel metallic, Golden Brown metallic and White Orchid Pearl. Another highlight of the cabin is the Digipad 2.0 touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda also offers paddle shifter for the petrol CVT model. The front seats have adjustable headrests and there's a centre armrest with cup holders in the rear. Higher variants get fog lamps, automatic climate control, cruise control and rear view camera. After highlighting the new design of the vehicle, the TVC takes you to the interior, where it shows car's CVT and the steering-mounted paddle shifts.

The safety features of the new Honda Amaze include dual front airbags, ABS and EBD and rear parking sensors as standard across all the variants. The biggest USP of the new Amaze is the CVT gearbox on both the petrol and diesel model. The new Amaze will be competing with the likes of Maruti Suzuki's Dzire, Ford's Aspire and Hyundai Motor's Xcent.
