Today, developer Codemasters and publisher Koch Media announced that the next entry in the franchise, F1 2018, will be launching around the same time as last year's title, on August 24, 2018. The game will be releasing on August 24 of this year, so if you're a fan you only have a few more months to wait. This means that its premiere will be the same weekend as the start of the Belgian Grand Prix, one of the most important events of the Formula 1 season. It's going to be available for Windows PC via Steam and also through a physical disc.

Not only will F1 2018 feature all of the official teams, drivers, and circuits of the 2018 season but will be adding an entirely new lineup of cars, as well as the promise of bringing back a highly requested fan-feature back into the game.

“We were delighted by the reception that the highly-acclaimed F1 2017 game received, and are extremely excited to be able to further build on such a strong starting point with F1 2018, ” said Paul Jeal, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters.

F1 2018 will feature two tracks that weren't in F1 2017: the Circuit Paul Ricard and Hockenheim. Codemaster states that the new mode is much more immersive and provides a deeper look at the world of F1. While Codemasters has yet to publish any actual gameplay of the game (though they might do so at E3), the gameplay will likely be similar to that of previous F1 racing games. "Outside of those headline additions, there are many other great enhancements to be revealed before the game launches." said Jeal.
