The Cardinals and Crimson Tide are scheduled to face off at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., onSaturday, Sept. 1 - the first time in school history the Cardinals will open the season against the defending national champions. The last meeting took place in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Ariz., after the Crimson Tide swept two games from the Cardinals in the 1976 and 1977 seasons. The game is expected to be the first start at quarterback for redshirt freshman Jawon Pass, who succeeds Heisman Trophy victor Lamar Jackson, a first-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens. This is the same timeslot and TV assignment the Crimson Tide got a year ago when it opened the season with No. 3 Florida State in Atlanta.

Alabama is coming off its fifth national championship in nine seasons.
