The three-day event aims at providing special education on driving and vehicle selection to women.

The exhibition, which is expected to attract more than 80,000 visitors, will allow women to get to know all the auto dealerships in Saudi Arabia and their special offers, as well as the offers of insurance companies and accessories for cars and to communicate directly with government and private supporting agencies.

Organisers reported women enthusiastically discussed with their relatives and companions what cars would suit them best as they spent time on simulators to get a feel for the experience they expect to have starting June 24, when they will be allowed to drive, Gulf News reported. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami said on May 8. In September, Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz issued an order to allow women to obtain driving licences and to drive in the kingdom. In the capital today, groups of men and women sit unsegregated in a few cafes, a scene unthinkable just a few years ago, and public concerts and theatres now allow men and women to be present within the same space.

"It is no secret that many women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hold driving licenses from overseas", the statement added.
