During a session at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, President Buhari said; "Our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million".

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) in a recent statement have backed by President Muhammadu Buhari controversial comment made regarding some Nigerian youth, describing it as "apt, precise and succinct".

"Having returned from CHOGM with nothing but wasted opportunities, the next move by the Buhari Presidency would be to hugely mobilise their spin-doctors with public resources and direct them to inundate the media with claims of imaginary gains in an effort to befool Nigerians".

A youth leader Almustapha Abdullahi has said President Muhammadu Buhari would not have degraded the Nigerian youth, insisting that the president "loves the youth".

"It took the same president six good months to form his cabinet and yet the only new faces on the list were Kemi Adeosun, late Ocholi and Bar.Solomon Dalung, at this point it's not wrong for we "the youths" to say that Mr. President is suffering from intellectual idleness for his in-abilities to give us a strong, new and a viable cabinets within seven day of his inauguration?"

"The problem with Nigerians is that they always run away from reality". This statement is rejected in its entirety by the Nigerian youths.

Dear Mr President, in case you are not aware, the PR implication of this statement is that you have further damaged the global reputation of Nigeria and by extension, the Nigerian youths because other leaders like Trump will latch on your statement and look at the Nigerian youth with such disdain and call us "Shit-hole-youths".

The President also caused a stir in Nigeria with his comment at the business forum.

Today, so many Nigerians youths are making waves in sport, science, commerce, art and other professional fields world wide and they have refused to come back home but rather remain as nationals of other countries because the government have failed to meet up with their own side of the bargain. What of the "agberos" or touts who have now spilled out of motor parks unto the streets and bus stops?

"The 25th September 2017 edition of a northern-based newspaper also reportedly quoted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as saying, "Northerners are lazy" while General Babangida (rtd) allegedly opined during a BBC Hausa service interview of 16th April, 2010, The Nigerian youth is useless, can not lead".
