Bharti Airtel Announces Apple Watch Series 3 Online Sale, Cellular Trial Offer

This new variant will accompany the GPS-only variant of the Apple Watch Series 3 that is available in India since past year.

Those who pre-book via Jio's website will be eligible for priority home delivery, where the watch and the Jio service (including Mobile Number Portability) will be home delivered. While there are now no pricing details around the Cellular version, the GPS-only variant of Apple Watch Series 3 with Sport band is priced at Rs. 32,380 while the Nike+ band variant bears a price tag of Rs. 32,470. The product will be available in stores from May 11, 2018, Times Now has learnt. Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom company, also said Apple Watch Series 3 - with Global Positioning System and cellular features - will be available from May 11, 2018.

The Mukesh Ambani-led telco has also set up a platinum care center trained to resolve all Apple Watch 3 related queries.

Coming to Airtel, the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular will be available on Airtel Online Store starting May 11. To activate cellular service with Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), customers first need to update iPhone to iOS 11.3 and watchOS 4.3, the telco added. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on May 4.

Reliance Jio has introduced a new cellular service called JioEverywhereConnect for the new Apple smartwatch.

Interested users will be able to book their Apple Watch Series 3 LTE though, Reliance Digital and Jio Stores across the country starting May 4.

The Reliance website says that all Jio users with any data plan can get started with Apple's new smartwatch.

Jio has also said it will not charge anything extra for this service. The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) makes use of a unique antenna design that utilizes the display of itself as both a transmitting and receiving element for LTE and UMTS. The 3rd generation of Apple Watch has cellular support, which means that users can leave their iPhones behind and still be able to make calls, send texts and surf the web. Upon getting done with that, users can head on to the "About" section inside Settings iPhone General and update their carrier settings when prompted to.
