The 'Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' 20th anniversary tour is coming to Portland

Though never really removed from the zeitgeist, Lauryn Hill has been having a bit of a pop culture renaissance lately.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was released in 1998 to widespread critical acclaim. For the readers who are too young to have experienced the album, you might recognize her as the voice behind the catchy sample on Drake's latest hit song, "Nice For What".

"The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour" featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill is at Chaifetz arena with a show on October 5; show time is at 7:30 p.m.

Kicking off in Virginia Beach on July 5, the tour will take in a number of cities across the continent before winding up in St. Louis on October 5.

Lauryn Hill will grace the stage of Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m. She broke records for first-week sales by a woman, her lead single "Doo-Wop (That Thing)" went number one on the Billboard charts and the album won five Grammys in one night. She'll performing the album in full on the road.

Hill has not released another album since Miseducation, and the past 20 years of her career have been marked by occasional tours and self-imposed exiles.
