Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon reacts after being sent off in the Champions League quarter-final second leg match with Real Madrid in Madrid April 12, 2018.

Michael Oliver awarded a last-minute penalty as Real Madrid knocked Juventus out of the Champions League last week and was criticised by keeper Gianluigi Buffon and some Italian media.

Buffon was sent off for dissent by English referee Michael Oliver after he awarded Real Madrid a stoppage-time penalty which sent the Spaniards into the semi-finals.

But they are said to have made Buffon their top priority and are "dreaming" of an ambitious move for the 40-year-old star.

"You can even go too far, sometimes getting it wrong".

"After the Bernabeu I went for long walks, mushrooms and daisies".

"Douglas Costa was meant to come on, not quite that early, but it was part of the plan", said Allegri. It was a week that allowed me to experience strong emotions, beautiful, pure adrenaline.

"Being captain of the national team is the greatest gift that life has given me", said Buffon, who returned to play friendlies last month against England and Argentina with the Azzurri.

The 50-year-old is one of the most respected and highly-rated coaches in Europe - both Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring his situation in Turin.

They nearly won it late on when Arkadiusz Milik's close-range shot was brilliantly saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, making his 100th Serie A appearance at the age of 19. There are always kids listening.

"Napoli are having a sensational campaign, they are still right up there and I think the next two games could be nearly decisive for the Scudetto", said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

"I think a young referee was sent to officiate an important match, although he's already well established and has shown his courage".

"After that, there are the appropriate bodies which must judge the conduct of all players on the pitch".

"We are supporting Michael and Lucy Oliver and condemn the abuse Lucy has received on social media", a PGMOL spokesperson said in a statement.
