Sure enough, here we are on April 16 and the Razer Phone's Android 8.1 Oreo update is officially rolling out. Users that already have a Razer Phone were announced to get Android 8.1 Oreo software immediately. They've created a name for themselves over the past decade, coming correct with all manner of gaming-focused products from mice to keyboards to laptops and everything in-between. Thatwould be bad news, if it wasn't for the fact the company was going to upgrade its phone to Android 8.1 instead. This device was revealed in November of 2017 and it's been on the market since December. You can also still purchase one from Amazon, Razer.com, and Microsoft stores in North America.

Along with the new OS update, Razer Phone will now be made available at Best Buy retail stores and its website. The device hasn't received any major Android OS update since its release, but Razer promised the smartphone will be updated directly to Android 8.1 Oreo. Razer says the update "presents a cleaner visual design and under-the-hood improvements for a better overall experience". Also in the mix: system improvements, bug fixes, and a Nova Launcher update.
