"Kick the ball out, repost, keep moving around, search it out, get to the offensive board".

He and the Timberwolves will have a shot at redemption Wednesday in Game 2 in Houston. "You got to sprint around".

"He's got to be more active", Thibodeau said, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon. You learn, when teams are double-teaming you, you have to make the right play, so you have to get to positions where it's hard for them to double team. But you've got to run the floor. And so you also have to get to positions in which where it's hard for them to double-team. "If they're going to double team that means it's going to be easier for other people, and if they're going to switch you have to make the right read". And so transition's a big part of that. "You've got to run the floor".

Towns is Minnesota's best, most efficient offensive player, and he's nearly unrivaled in the league this season if you look at advanced metrics.

In contrast, Houston center Clint Capela enjoyed a dominant night as he posted a playoff-career-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting, along with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots. There's no reason for him not be a difference-maker against the Rockets, but he was not the only one who fell short Sunday night.

But there were times when Towns had smaller guards such as Chris Paul or Eric Gordon on him but he didn't receive the ball in these instances and he refused to complain about a lack of touches after the game.

Apart from taking a long two when a 3 was needed to tie the game in the final seconds, Jimmy Butler had 13 points on 4-for-11 from the floor and could do nothing on the defensive end with James Harden. Clearly, his isolation play at the end of games is not working. But, whatever, way crazier things have happened.

"It's not a one-on-one game", said Thibodeau.
