Edmond, Okla. - (KOCO) Former Niceville High and University of Oklahoma football player Roy Finch was arrested over the weekend after he resisted arrest and assaulted police officers, police say.

Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Edmond police officers were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked and running for more than an hour. Finch allegedly swung at officers and ran through an apartment complex before officers finally wrestled Finch to the ground and handcuffed him.

Officers made contact with Finch and say they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers arrived and found Finch, 26, inside. Finch was able to break free from apprehension and, after a perimeter of the complex was established, he was discovered in the breezeway of another apartment complex.

When officers tried to stop him, another fight began.

"As an officer yelled 'Place your hands behind your back", the dashcam video picks up sounds of a taser as Finch appeared to resist capture.
