Barcelona will be aiming to continue rewriting the history books when they lock horns with Celta Vigo at Balaidos on Tuesday night. The Uruguayan striker has bagged 13 goals in 30 league appearances since joining Celta from Defensor Sporting in the off-season.

But, Barca should be strong for the home side with the likes of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.

Ernesto Valverde's Barcelona set a La Liga record by going 39 games unbeaten Saturday as they beat Valencia.

"We are in an important week and we are coming off the back of a game three days ago, and we have the cup final".

Barca can wrap up the title before May's El Clasico if Atletico Madrid drop points in their next two games, meaning a win over Celta Vigo will be at the forefront of their minds.

They are ninth in the table and still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League, but will need to close the five-point gap to the top six in the final six fixtures.

Celta coach Juan Carlos Unzue, who was assistant manager at Barca under Valverde's predecessor Luis Enrique, wants to avenge that loss and is setting his sights on a shock win.

"We can not set out to draw, we need to win". We have to go out and win, to stand up.

For the home side, captain Hugo Mallo and the influential Pablo Hernandez are out due to suspension. Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique could get the night off, while Ivan Rakitic misses out with an injured finger.
