The Reds star is battling it out with Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne for the PFA Player of the Year award.

Salah is five goals clear of two-time reigning Golden Boot victor and Tottenham striker Kane.

But after he became just the third player in Liverpool's history to score 40 goals in a single season, Salah is forgetting about any individual gong and only has eyes one trophy.

"After 15 minutes I said we'd be champions, after what happened and we reacted", said Guardiola, who will be on the golf course with his son when United play on Sunday.

Chelsea kept their faint hopes of Champions League football next season alive by closing to within seven points of Spurs with a stunning eight-minute fightback to deepen Southampton's predicament in the bottom three. "I don't care about the rest".

But they are also looking to secure qualification for the competition for next season and took another step towards that against Bournemouth.

Liverpool should have built on their early lead and the only surprise was that Bournemouth managed to keep in the match, and keep Salah out, until the 69th minute.

Instead the forward reached Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross from the right and guided a header over Cherries goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

But can he break Rush's record of 47 set back in the 1983-84 season?

"I can not lie - it is in my mind".

"You won't see a better collective team goal this week".

"I am also sure that Tottenham's players try to help Harry Kane, and also Manchester City's try to help Sergio Aguero".

"We've encountered a team that was too good for us today, but we've got some massive games to come".

"Now we still have four games and they have five games so I have to think about my games and we see". It's all about him and all about us, how we finish the season.

For all Liverpool's dominance, they only had one goal to show for it in the first half as Salah continued to be frustrated, with Steve Cook's brilliant challenge denying him.
