Manchester City clinch Premier League title

After beating Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, April 14, Manchester City had to wait till Sunday, April 15, for the outcome of the match between Manchester United and West Brom.

He was particularly wasteful against United last weekend when missing two one-on-ones, which proved costly as City squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2.

Manchester United's shock defeat to bottom-placed West Bromwich Albion ensured that the second-placed team had no mathematical chance left to overtake their local rivals. How about that taxi driver who isn't EVEN LOOKING at where he's going despite the fact that there are literally THOUSANDS of people in that street. Probably because I won eight championships, I was not in the moon with the victory against them.

With 28 league victories so far, City need three more wins to top Chelsea's record of 30 Premier League wins in a season. But tonight, we win it again.

Guardiola also praised his young players - with Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus scoring crucial goals - and he believes they will learn from their Champions League disappointment.

Here's what pundits, managers and players have said after City won the league...

"My feeling is that United will win a lot of points because they are in a good shape and have top players". I have seen many teams win it as champions for the whole season, and it's the first case for us.

We're seeing a packed out Etihad Stadium (for the first time ever), along with streets and pubs lined with City fans. The current domestic season has been nothing short of phenomenal for Pep Guardiola's men as they have broken record after record since the beginning of the campaign and still looks strong to break several other long-standing Premier League records.

"Pep's beliefs determine how his team play, the way I wanted my teams to play, so put me down as one of his admirers. We conceded goals but the most important detail is not the goal you concede but the chances you concede and in every game it was few and [while] playing so offensively".

Guardiola said in March that Mateo was "doing well" and, following confirmation of City's title triumph, Silva thanked fans on social media for their support during a "tough year", attaching a photo of himself holding his son. There was a period of adaptation for him coming into the league and for us taking in his methods.
