Chris Evans has seemingly confirmed that he will hang up Captain America's shield after the as-yet-untitled fourth Avengers feature, due out in 2019.

Back in January, Chris Hemsworth indicated that his character Thor is pretty much finished after Avengers 4, saying: "Contractually, right now - yeah, this is it".

He also told the outlet that it's better to "get off the train before they push you off it".

Evans has been moving to other ventures including starring on Broadway in Lobby Hero opposite Michael Cera, and will direct another film after he's done with Cap. We have the third Avengers movie to look forward to this April - with some of the cast members heading to Singapore to promote the movie.

This is not the first time that the news of Evans retiring as Captain America has come forward. Several fans have speculated that Captain America might die in the film. In an interview with The New York Times, the actor mentioned that the final reshoots for the fourth Avenger movie this fall will be his last - as per his deal with Marvel.

Shocking it may sound, the original Avengers plot for comic version was chalked out without the character of Captain America. Yes!

Reports are doing the round that Downey Jr., too, may be ready to leave the Marvel universe.

Chris Evans is hanging up the star-spangled suit.

However, he signed for one more movie after it was divided into two parts.
