David Yates is directing Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling.

The release of the new Fantastic Beasts trailer naturally sent fans of the Harry Potter franchise into a frenzy - but not for the reasons movie-makers might have hoped. Dumbledore was the administrator of the court, with the title of Chief Warlock, as well as the British Youth Representative to the court when he was younger.

The second movie in the Harry Potter spin-off series debuted its full first-look yesterday, to a mostly positive reception from fans.

At the beginning of the trailer the characters apparate into the school grounds as curious students watch from inside the castle.

More drama, more fantastic beasts, more wizards and witches, and more magic! But to know what this means actually, you will have to wait till November. We don't know his level of involvement in the 1920s, when this movie takes place.

The studio released a short video yesterday announcing that the first teaser trailer for the film was coming sometime today.

Fans will get their first look at a young Albus Dumbledore as played by Jude Law, and the controversial casting of Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald.

Now the wizard is gathering followers to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. Later in the trailer, he meets Newt on the roof of St. Paul's Cathedral in London and says: "I can't move against Grindelwald". We are then given peeks into both new and returning characters including Scamander's love interest Porpetina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), his "no-maj" friend Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), Queenie (Alison Sudol), Leta Lestrange (Zoë Kravitz) and Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller) who seems to have survived his death from the last film.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald began principal photography past year and will open in theaters on November 16, 2018.
